Land Trust Update:
The Beckwith Conservancy

Building Bridges at the Land Trust's Beckwith Conservancy

Those of you who have visited the Land Trust's Beckwith Conservancy in Stockbridge know that the bridge over Portage Creek has been down for a long time. This year, though, that is changing!

A new pedestrian bridge will provide access to a part of the preserve that is not currently accessible - at least not without getting wet.

Volunteer Bill Steere installs supporting joists for the new pedestrian bridge at the Land Trust's Beckwith Conservancy.

Thank you to: Campbell Laird, for bridge designs and excellent project leadership; Campbell & Fran Laird for donating funds to purchase the bridge materials; Bob Cole for his architect skills; Chelsea Lumber Company for discounts on lumber; and to a fantastic volunteer crew: Lora Beckwith, Jim Carty, Bob Cole, Janet Crone, Gwynne & David Fisher, Jeff Flint, Marty Gold, Judy Heady, Bob Helber, Jr., Bob Helber, Sr., Corey Helber, Eric Helber, Tim Helber, Fran & Campbell Laird, Bill Lewis, Bob Ludwig, Janice Selberg, Mike Semanski, Bill & Charity Steere, Paul Takessian, Tom Wall, Rocky Ward, Ed & Cora Yee.
